Terms of service
The agreement between you and CoachRocket. Short, and written to be understood rather than to intimidate.
Plain language, not legal advice
This page was written in plain language by the people who built CoachRocket. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes honestly how the product actually works, but it is not a substitute for a professional legal review and should be reviewed by one before anybody relies on it.
What CoachRocket is
CoachRocket is a tool for fitness coaches and their clients. A coach builds training programs and meal plans, invites their clients, follows weekly check-ins and progress, exchanges messages, and keeps a record of who paid and when. A client follows the program, logs their sessions and check-ins, and can see their own package and payment record.
That is all it is. CoachRocket is not a gym, not a coach, not a payment service and not a medical provider. Using it does not put us between you and the person you are training with.
Accounts
You need an account, and an account is for one person. Give a real name and a working email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has got into your account.
You choose at sign-up whether you are a coach or a client, and that choice is permanent — the database will not let it be changed afterwards. If you picked wrong, delete the account and make a new one.
A coach's plan sets how many clients they can keep active at once. Client accounts are free, and a client is never charged by us for anything.
Money
Payment for coaching is arranged directly between a coach and their client — cash, bank transfer, card in person, whatever the two of them already use. It does not pass through CoachRocket. There is no card form anywhere in the product and no payment processor behind it.
What the product does is record the payment: the amount, the method, the date and a reference. That record is a shared note kept by both sides so nobody has to argue from memory. It is not a receipt, not an invoice and not a tax document, and it does not prove that money changed hands. If a payment is disputed, that is between the coach and the client to sort out; we are not a party to it and we cannot reverse anything.
A coach is responsible for what they charge, for delivering the coaching they charged for, for any refund they agree to, and for their own taxes. A client is responsible for paying what they agreed. We are the intermediary in neither direction.
Coaches pay us separately for their own plan, which is also settled offline and then recorded. We take no percentage of what a coach's clients pay them on the standard plans. Where a gym or studio has agreed a revenue share or a prepaid deposit arrangement with us in advance and in writing, that agreement governs, and the figures are visible in the coach's own billing screen.
Refunds of a coach's plan fee are handled case by case: payments already made are not refunded, but you can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again. Where a law that applies to you gives you a refund right that cannot be signed away, that right still applies.
Training advice belongs to the coach
Every routine, exercise, instruction, meal plan and note in CoachRocket is written by a coach, not by us. We do not write it, review it, endorse it, or check that a coach holds the qualifications they claim. The coach is responsible for the advice they give and for the safety of what they ask a client to do.
If you are a client: what you see in the app is coaching, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training or nutrition program, especially if you are pregnant, injured, unwell or on medication. Stop if something hurts, and tell your coach.
If you are a coach: you act as an independent professional. You are responsible for your own qualifications, for your insurance, and for complying with whatever rules apply to coaching where you work. Nothing here makes you our employee, agent or partner.
Using it decently
Do not do any of the following with CoachRocket:
- Upload anything illegal, or anyone's photo or personal information without their consent.
- Harass or threaten anyone, or send unwanted messages or invites.
- Try to reach data that is not yours, whether by probing the API, the storage buckets or the database rules. Report a hole you find to support@coachrocket.app instead; we will thank you for it.
- Scrape the product, run automated tooling against it at a volume that degrades it for others, or resell access to an account.
- Impersonate another coach, gym or person, or claim a qualification you do not hold.
- Store anything you would not want your coach or your client to see, since the whole point of the product is that they can.
Your content stays yours
The programs a coach writes, the photos and logs a client enters and the messages either of them sends belong to whoever made them. We claim no ownership of any of it.
By putting it in the product you allow us to store it, back it up, and show it to exactly the people the product is designed to show it to — your coach, your client, and nobody else. We do not use anyone's content for marketing, for training a model, or for anything besides running the service.
Availability, and no warranty
CoachRocket runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves. We keep it up and we take backups, but there is no uptime guarantee, no promised response time and no service-level agreement. Maintenance happens, and so occasionally does failure.
The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not promise that a routine, a total, a calorie figure or a payment record is accurate — a person entered those. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; coaches can export their client list and ledger to CSV at any time.
Limits on what we owe
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury arising from training, for a dispute over money between a coach and a client, for lost profit or lost clients, or for data lost through a failure or through your own deletion. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100.
Ending it
You can stop at any time. Delete your account in Settings and your data goes with it, as described on the privacy page. There is nothing to cancel and nobody to call.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to harm somebody, or whose plan has gone unpaid past its grace period. Where a plan simply expires, training content locks but nothing is deleted: record the renewal and everything comes back with a new end date.
If we ever shut the service down, we will give notice in the app and enough time to export what you need.
Changes
The product changes and these terms will change with it. The date at the top moves when they do, and anything that materially affects you will be announced in the app. Continuing to use CoachRocket after a change means you accept the new version.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States of America, and any dispute goes to the courts of Delaware, United States. Before that, please just write to support@coachrocket.app — nearly everything is solved that way.
